Attendance

It is vital for your child’s learning and development that they attend school regularly and punctually. Therefore, your child is expected to attend school on time every day unless they are too ill or have an unavoidable medical appointment (please book all non-urgent appointments outside of school hours, where possible).

If your child is absent from school, please let us know the reason behind their absence by phoning the school by 9am on each day of their absence. You can contact us on 020 8534 6127. If your child is regularly absent or is persistently late, this will be followed up by our School Attendance Officer and possibly by an Attendance and Welfare Adviser from Newham's Targeted Attendance Support Service.

If you are planning a family trip during term time, then please speak to our School Attendance Officer for further information and guidance.  We would advise all families to avoid booking holidays during term time as these are unlikely to be authorised by the school and will impact your child's learning. The school is committed to following the guidelines set out by the Local Authority and the Department for Education. Further information around Educational Penalty Notices can be found below.
